At Brenscombe Outdoor Centre we are small enough to focus on the needs of every group and also large enough to offer a diverse range of activities. Our location, venues, activities and desire to design programmes tailored to each client’s needs creates a special Brenscombe experience.

Brenscombe Location
Embracing the local landscape
Brenscombe Outdoor Centre is surrounded by farmland with easy access to the sea cliffs, beaches, Poole Harbour and the Purbeck Heath National Nature Reserve. A former farm, with Purbeck stone buildings, the venue is full of character.
We use our site and the surrounding countryside to create outdoor programmes that embrace the local landscape. Our facilities set us apart. As well as the main centre we have Cleavel Point, a promontory of land into Poole harbour where we base our watersports, and we have the extensive Burnbake ropes course.

The team is full of people with a keen passion for the outdoors
Brenscombe Outdoor Centre has a small but mighty full-time team which sees everyone getting involved.
Brenscombe’s activity delivery team is made up of a fantastic group of seasonal instructors, many of whom return to us year on year. Our high number of returning staff makes for a good connection between the seasonal and full-time team and allows for our ethos and experience to be passed to the new members.
The team offer genuine hospitality while balancing the needs of outdoor safety, fun and learning during our activities.

Different locations, shared values
Brenscombe Outdoor Centre is one of three outdoor centres on the south coast owned and operated by Activate Outdoors Ltd. Each centre has its own unique feel, embraces its own local landscape and shares our approach.
Is set in the beautiful New Forest and its activity programme makes the most of the forest with fantastic Bushcraft, Carving and Campfire Cooking. Alongside the wilderness skills, the programme includes High and Low Ropes, Mountain Biking, Raft Building and much more.

Our Portland site is based on the northern edge of the island and looks straight over the harbour, made famous by its use in the 2012 Olympics as the sailing venue. The quick access to the Jurassic Coast path and subsequently the cliffs allow for fantastic Rock Climbing, Abseiling and Coasteering not to mention all of the Watersports on the doorstep.
