Creating lifelong memories through adventure
Adventurous activities are a fantastic way of bringing groups together, whether that’s to bond a new group of students or concrete an already established friendship. Learning new skills, developing teamwork, introducing leadership techniques or just breaking the ice, a programme of activities can make a real difference.
If you are looking to visit us for a day, a few hours or regularly over a few weeks we can create an activity programme that will maximise your time.
Experiences for your group
We want to make the most of your day with us at Brenscombe and have lots of experience creating bespoke programmes. We design your day with you to ensure that the activity choice and delivery will meet your needs and maximise your experience.
To make the most of a day visit set within school hours we would normally recommend to be based in one of our activity locations. For full days there is scope to move between them.
Brenscombe itself where we have ample space on our fields for activities like Team Tasks and Pioneering Challenges. The site also has both an Archery and Air Rifle range and direct access to the Purbeck Ridge for exploratory Orienteering sessions. Our Bushcraft sessions take place in our private woods.
Burnbake Ropes Course. Our extensive high and low ropes course at Burnbake offers multiple challenges for groups. The course is nestled in the woods and the variety of elements at differing heights allows students the chance to build up confidence before trying the highest parts.
Cleavel Point is our private watersports location which provides access into Poole Harbour for raft building, kayaking, canoeing, journeying in our 13-person Big Canoes and generally getting wet.
Across the Purbecks we deliver climbing and abseiling on the sea cliffs at both Dancing Ledge and Hedbury quarries. We also offer coastal walks and mountain biking in the Purbeck Heath National Nature Reserve.
A day visit with Brenscombe could see your group on our lovely farm site just 5 minutes from Corfe, or down on the edge of the Jurassic coast cliffs.
Brenscombe being our base has tea & coffee facilities for visiting staff along with undercover areas for lunch, toilets and ample coach and car parking.
Our venues at Cleavel and Burnbake have access to toilets, and undercover space for lunch and/or changing areas before and after watersports. Our team will always make sure you can fill up water bottles and on particularly cold days hot squash and tea & coffee can be made available.
The remoteness of our activities across the Purbecks is part of their attraction and creates both a real sense of adventure and a need to carry lunch and water with you. Toilets and water are accessible but not instantly convenient.
Catering can be organised in the form of packed lunches, BBQs or sit-down meals in our dining hall.
